Nondas ‘Nonnie’ Irene Sohlke
Nondas “Nonnie” Irene Sohlke went home to live with the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 2, 2015.
She was born May 10, 1932, in Pendelton, to Richard and Irene Hodges. She was number seven of eight children. On July 29, 1951, she married Arthur Sohlke, who survives. They moved to Oregon in 1959.
One of her special concerns was her desire to reflect the life of her Lord in her daily walk. She enjoyed her collection of cobalt blue glass and always treasured growing up on the farm in Indiana.
Also surviving are two children: Jeffrey (Denise) Dohlke, Fredericksburg, Va.; and Leah (Randy) Owen, Springfield, Ore.; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother: Delane Hodges, Mooresville, N.C.; a sister: Margaret Black, Akron; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service was June 13 at Thurston Christian Church, Springfield, Ore.
