Howard E. O’Connor, 81, Bremen, passed away at 10:46 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2015, in Porter Regional Medical Center, Valparaiso. Howard was born on Oct. 13, 1933 in North Liberty, the son of the late Faye and Lilly (Reed) O’Connor.

On June 20, 1959, he married Betty Hill. She passed away on Dect. 23, 2012. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle, two sisters and five brothers.

Howard is survived by six children: Tim (Marilyn) O’Connor, Bourbon; Joyce (Mike) Daly, Cincinnati, Ohio; David O’Connor, Bremen; Ernest (Karen) O’Connor, Plymouth; Peggy Gibbons, Elkhart; and Kelly (Steven) Roeseler, Oak Harbor, Wash.; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: John (Judy) O’Connor, South Bend; and Merlin (Donna) O’Connor, S.C.

He enjoyed his family. He also enjoyed his extended church family and breakfast with his buddies. Howard was a member of the Bremen Missionary Church and will be greatly missed by all of his friends and family. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June22, in Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, in the funeral home with Pastor Steve Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in Bremen Cemetery with full military honors.
