Carl E. Williams, of Winona Lake, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Grace Village Retirement Community of Winona Lake at the age of 87.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County, since 1970, where he was a member of Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Warsaw. Carl served in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1949. He was a 1953 graduate of Indiana University receiving his Bachelor’s degree in business and accounting. He was a Certified Public Accountant and partner with Dahms and Yarian in Warsaw for 40 years, retiring in 2010. He was a member of the Warsaw Rotary Club and was a Shriner.
Carl was born on July 21, 1927, in La Porte, to Harry J. Williams and Ethel Florence (Nicklas) Williams. On Sept. 13, 1953 he was married to Marilyn Sue (Kelly) Williams, who survives in Winona Lake.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter: Sharon (Wayne) Williams-Hanrattie, Columbus; one grandson: Zachary Williams, Hawaii; one grandaughter: Kaelin Hanrattie, Columbus; and his sister: Elna Lewis, Indianapolis. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sons: Bradley and Brian Williams.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, June 19, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
His funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Warsaw, and officiated by Dr. Erk Ohman. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Memorial donations in Carl’s name may be directed to Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Warsaw, and designated to the Deacon’s fund.
