Weldon C. AlderferWeldon C. Alderfer, 89, Argos, died at 8:33 p.m. June 13, 2015, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester. He had been in declining health for the past couple of years.

Weldon was born on July 1, 1925, in Rural Fulton County to Clarence “Lee” Alderfer and Gertrude Bernice (Fletcher) Alderfer, and had lived in the Argos community all of his life.

On Nov. 11, 1945, at the Walnut Gospel Church of Walnut, he married Wilma Jean Bodey, and together they shared 63 years with each other. Weldon was a Farmer and retired from the Marshall County Highway Department. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Rochester; and was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1943

Weldon is survived by his son: Roger L. (Elaine) Alderfer, Greenfield; daughter: Gloria (Kenneth) Smith, Argos; step granddaughter: Suzette (Douglas) Bergstedt; and four step great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife: Wilma Jean Alderfer, on Dec. 7, 2008; brothers; Herman and Marvin Alderfer; and sister: Ivaline Alderfer.

Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the funeral home, with Rev. Bryce Bowman officiating. A private burial will take place at the Richland Center Cemetery, Argos, at a later date.
