At its June 11 meeting, the Kosciusko County Council had more than a dozen tax abatements to approve.

In the case of these agenda items, preliminary approval had already been granted to the organizations. The purpose of these approvals was to make sure that the organizations held up their end of the abatement agreement.

The following organizations came before the council for approval:

Real Property Abatement Approval

Personal Property Abatement Approval

With the wheel tax ordinance also on the agenda, council President Bob Sanders requested that all of the items be approved in one motion. He noted that all of the projects had met or exceeded expectations.

Kosciusko County Assessor Susan Engelberth and Marcia Baumgartner, personal property deputy, came before the council to vouch for the organizations. Both reported that all of the organizations were compliant and helpful, and any information the assessor’s office requested was provided.

The motion to approve all of the abatements passed unanimously.
