Robert L. Stocking

Robert L. StockingRobert L. Stocking 85, Rochester, passed away at 2:50 a.m. Saturday June 6, 2015, at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester.

He was born on July 10, 1929 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Beryle and Etta (Frey) Stocking.

On Dec. 23, 1950 in Rochester, he married Diane J. Elin. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2013.

Mr. Stocking worked for Topps Manufacturing, Rochester, for 47 years having served as senior vice president. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and had been a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge and Elk’s Lodge.

Survivors include his children: Beth and husband Gary Washburn, Rochester; Scott and wife Teri Stocking, Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; Joseph and wife Crystal Stocking, Goose Creek, S.C.; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Elin Cooke, sisters, Viola Dozier, Bea Ryneic and brother, Larry Stocking.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday June 11, at Zimmerman Brothers Funeral Home, Rochester, with the Rev. Phil Pratt officiating.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, where military graveside services will be conducted.
