Francis Glen Engle, 77, North Manchester, died at 6:10 p.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice, Fort Wayne.
He was born in Jennings County on Feb. 26, 1938, to Gerald and Gladys (Clarkson) Engle.
On Feb. 26, 1984, he married Mary Jane Middleton. She died on Oct. 27, 2010. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1518 and Eagles #4182, both of North Manchester. He graduated from Vernon High School, Vernon, in 1958. He enjoyed camping at Art’s Country Park, yard work, spending time at the Moose with his friend and country music.
Francis is survived by special friend: Lynn Daugird, North Manchester; sons: Glen Edwin (Beth) Engle, North Manchester; Craig Alan (Jeannie) Engle, Wabash; stepson: Steven Ulrey, Indianapolis; stepdaughter: Jo Beth (Steve) Swisher, North Manchester; sisters: Faye Ellis, North Vernon; Sue (Howard) Pauly, Dayton, Ohio; and Virginia Weaver, Shamokin, Pa.; three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother; and four great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with calling hours from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, June 1. Pastor J.P. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
