Robert CordRobert S. “Bob” Cord, 81, Winona Lake, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 28, in Grace Village, Winona Lake.

He was born Aug. 13, 1933, to Elmer H. and Lora D. (Stephens) Cord in Shelbyville. Bob was united in marriage on Oct. 31, 1954 to Judy Worland, who survives, in Saint Joseph Catholic Church, Shelbyville.

He was a 1951 graduate of Shelbyville High School and attended Tri-State College. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving four years in the U.S. Air Force. He obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was past Exalted Ruler of B.P.O. Elks #457. He retired from Zimmer Inc. as a National Accounts Manager in 1988.

Bob is survived by his wife: Judy Cord, Winona Lake; a daughter; Bambi (James) Maze, Warsaw; a son: Jeff (Diane) Cord, Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren: Zack (Tricia) Maze, Long Grove, Ill.; Brooke (Travis) Moore, Huntington; Jeff Cord Jr., Shreveport, La.; and Rebecca Cord, Youngsville, La.; also surviving are four great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ken (Pam) Cord, Okahumpka, Fla.; and Greg Cord, Guyton, Ga.; a sister: Sherry (Dennis) Lyons, Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday, June 1, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. Pastor Wanda Carter will officiate the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

The family is requesting that donations be made to the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County.
