CULVER – Warsaw’s Liza Lewis will continue her play in the individual portion of the girls tennis state tournament series tonight.
The Warsaw No. 1 singles player will face Rachel Simon of Culver Academies this evening at 5 p.m. at Culver Academies.
Lewis, a freshman, remained undefeated in singles play in the state tournament Tuesday night. She beat Plymouth sophomore Erin Hunter 6-0, 6-2 as the Tigers lost 4-1 to the Pilgrims in a team regional semifinal match played indoors at Culver Academies.
Simon, a senior, extended her season Wednesday night with a win over Plymouth’s Hunter in the team regional title match.
The Pilgrims beat host Culver Academies 3-2 Wednesday night to win the regional championship. Plymouth, now 16-3, will return to Culver Academies on Saturday at noon to play in the semistate. They will face either Munster or Crown Point, who play tonight in the Highland Regional final.
