Deborah A. Simmons, 68 of Warsaw, passed away at 4:24 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2015, in her residence, after a long battle with cancer.
Deborah was born on June 16, 1946, in Berlin Center, Ohio to Robert and Dorothy (Landon) Knecht. On Oct. 12, 1973, she married Roger L. Simmons, who survives.
She was a resident of Warsaw since 1975 and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. Deborah graduated from North Liberty High School, North Liberty, in 1964. She studied data entry at Business Service Association, South Bend. She worked at St. Joseph Bank, South Bend and Data Management, Warsaw.
Deborah is survived by her husband: Roger L. Simmons, Warsaw; three children: Brian (Abby) Simmons, New Palestine; Jeffery Simmons, Lafayette; and Christopher Simmons, Fort Wayne; two stepchildren: Tammy (Al) Churchill, Jones, Mich.; Richard Simmons, Elkhart. She loved spending time with her grandchildren: Mitchell; Connor; Sam; Ivey; Dexter; Landon; Natalie; Andrew; Matt; and Rachel. She is also survived by two brothers: Jim (Rosalee) Knecht, Apple Valley, Minn.; and Bob (Jan) Knecht, South Bend; two sisters: Beth Norris, South Bend; and Andrea (Gerry) Wharton, Gainesville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her sister: Kathy.
She loved motor homing with her husband, her grandchildren and her two Welshies, Kirby and Kelsey. She also enjoyed being at home and gardening.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Phil DeVolder officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Visitation hours will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, May 29, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday evening in the funeral chapel.

Visitation hours will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Friday, May 29, 2015 in McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, Friday evening in the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions may be made to Our Father’s House, Warsaw, Right to Life of North Central Indiana, Warsaw, or to IU Health Goshen Hospice, Goshen.
