KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) — Central Indiana health officials have completed investigating a case of tuberculosis in Kokomo after testing 800 people for the disease.
The Kokomo Tribune reported that Howard County health officials said Thursday that a local woman who had tested positive for TB has been released from isolation. Nursing coordinator Kathy Oldaker says the woman was isolated from Feb. 22 through May 17.
Officials urged people who had visited the O P Nail Spa or the Center Road Laundromat in Kokomo between certain dates to get tested for TB after an employee at the nail salon tested positive for the disease on Feb. 22.
Oldaker says 11 people tested positive for latent TB, which isn’t transmittable. She says those people were required to receive medical treatment.
