Triton Sports Wrap – May 20
The Triton softball team could not solve Ashlyn Kosinski Wednesday night.
The New Prairie pitcher fired a no-hitter to pace the Cougars past the Trojans 1-0 in a Northern State Conference contest.
Kopinski had 10 strikeouts in the gem.
New Prairie scored the lone run of the game in the sixth inning for the win.
Brycelyn Garbison took the pitching loss for the Trojans.
Triton will play at Bethan Christian on Thursday evening.
Cougars Outscore Trojans
The New Prairie baseball team outscored Triton 12-7 for a conference win in New Carlisle Wednesday.
The host Cougars scored all of their runs in the first three innings of the NSC contest.
The two teams combined for 32 hits, including 14 by Triton, and left a total of 16 runners on base.
Zac Pitney led the offense for Triton with three hits. Cordale Keyser and Dylan Hensley each had two hits, including a double. Grant Stichter and Spencer Glingle each also had a pair of hits.
Starting pitcher Nate Flenar took the loss for the Trojans.
Justin Cromey went 5-5 at the plate to lead New Prairie. Lawton Houser had two hits and four RBI and Jared Monhaut two hits and three RBI.
Triton will play at Bethany Christian Thursday.
