After School Is Cool

Join staff at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, for game day. Depending on the weather, we will participate in outside activities or come in and play board games. Either way, we will have a good time, so bring your friends. After we play, we will enjoy a snack. Don’t forget that for each After School is Cool that you attend you receive ten points. When you have reached 40 points, you get to pick a book to take home. See you then for game day at the library.

Milford Fest

Come by our booth during Milford Fest from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23. Choose a Superhero duck for a buck, $1, and win a prize. Everyone who plays wins a prize. All money supports the Summer Reading Program. Come out and have a great time at Milford Fest.

Long Range Survey

How do you think our library is doing? Why not get online and fill out our long range survey available at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3LYXMJZ and let us know what we can do to help you. We sent out email surveys and if you have filled out the survey already, we thank you. If you have not filled out the survey, go online or come in to the library and grab a paper copy through the month of May. This allows you, the patrons, to have input on our library’s long range plan for the next three years. The Library Board and staff rely on the information collected through these surveys to plan the next three years. Hope to hear from you soon. Any questions, give us a call at (574) 658-4312.

Donations Needed

We are gearing up for the Summer Reading Program and have a need for a few items to be able to do some of our crafts. We are looking for T-shirts of any size and any kind so that we can make them into capes with the kids. Along with shirts, we are looking for donations of toilet paper rolls to use this summer as well. If you have any of these and would like to donate, give us a call at (574) 658-4312 or bring them down to the children’s department. We appreciate any donations. Let’s make it a great summer reading program.

Nutrition Program at Milford Public Library

On Thursday, April 30, Purdue Extension Educator for Health and Human Science, Stephanie Faroh, presented a program, “Honey, How Sweet it is,” to a group of interested adults. She discussed different types of honey and the nutritional value of honey compared to white sugar. Faroh demonstrated how to make Fresh Greens and Oranges with Honey Dressing and Peanut Butter Honey Balls. Everyone there enjoyed the food. Paula Miller won “Healthy Honey Cookbook” by Larry Lonik. Inez Beiswanger won a copy of “Fresh Honey Cookbook” by Laurey Masterton. Our next nutrition program will be in September. If you have topics you would like to learn about, let a library staff member know.

Friends of the Library

Come by the library from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, May 23, for our Book Sale. There will be books set up outside in front of the library along Main Street for you to browse and purchase. Along with books, Friends of the Library will have cloth tote bags for sale for $12. If you would like to donate books, magazines, DVD’s, or videos, please bring them to the library meeting room by May 15. All the proceeds will be given back to the library for future use. If you would like to join the Friends of the Library group, come to the library and pick up a brochure or call (574) 658-4312 for more details.
