Dr. Pam Galloway, Warsaw, a retired physician and former state legislator, is
announcing her candidacy for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. Galloway seeks to fill the 3rd Congressional District vacancy created by Rep. Marlin Stutzman’s run for U.S. Senate.

She will be on the Republican ticket.

As a surgeon who cared for breast cancer patients, Galloway developed a skill for compassionate listening and precise treatment. She hopes to take the same approach with her constituents, taking time to find out what Indiana’s 3rd District wants and needs and then bringing those issues to Congress.

“My husband and I have a deep respect for our hardworking neighbors,” says Galloway. “I’m committed to fighting for the issues that affect our region. Right now, I want to listen. Tell me what’s weighing on your mind and I’ll give your values a voice in Washington.”

As a member of the Wisconsin State Senate, Galloway worked with Gov. Scott Walker to pass groundbreaking reforms. She earned support and admiration as an advocate for taxpayers and a defender of constitutional rights.

Galloway’s family-first beliefs led to her departure from the Wisconsin State Senate in 2012. Faced with the sudden, severe illnesses of several family members, she and her husband moved to Indiana to be closer to their families. “I stepped out of politics to help care for my family, but the decision was a difficult one,” says Galloway. “I fell in love with Indiana right away. Now that things have settled for our family, I want to be an advocate for the 3rd District.”

In 2014, Galloway chaired the winning campaign to elect Rep. Curt Nisly, R-Goshen, to District 22 of the Indiana House of Representatives. Galloway is a graduate of the University of Chicago and the Medical College of Virginia. She is a certified National Rifle Association instructor in Basic Pistol. Galloway resides in Kosciusko County with her husband, Dr. Chris Magiera, a fourth-generation native Hoosier.
