Mari Lynn Border 64, of Bourbon, Ind., passed away peacefully at 8:45 a.m., Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, in her home in the care of her husband and Hospice.

She was born July 31, 1948, at Argos, Ind., to Max Deamer and Dora Mae Hinkle Deamer.

She was a Commercial Pilot Instructor with a Double “I” Instrument Instructors license, she held a Sea Plane rating and Multi engine rating license. She had taught as an instructor at Culver Military Academy, Sky Stream of Plymouth and managed the Nappanee Airport for several years. She was a longtime member of the Mentone Flying Club, Christian Motorcycle Association and a faithful member of the Warsaw First United Methodist Church where she played guitar and keyboard in the Praise Band. She was also a graduate of Argos High School.

On Aug. 24, 1969, she married Jerry Border who survives, along with her brother, Ed and wife Jinney Hill, Fairburn, Ga.

She was preceded in death by a brother: Norman Deamer

The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in The Connection (Warsaw First United Methodist Church), 1692 W. Lake St. (Old US 30) Warsaw, Ind., with Rev. Toni Carmer officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to funeral services. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Argos.
