The Whitko girls tennis team dropped a 3-2 final Monday to Southwood.

The host Wildcats won a pair of singles matches in the Three Rivers Conference match.

Winning for Whitko were Morgan Keirn and Delaney Keirn. Morgan posted a 6-1, 6-1 win, while Delaney notched a 6-1, 6-4 victory.

Whitko will play at Manchester on Tuesday evening.

Wildcats Win On Diamond

A fast start carried host Whitko past Northfield 11-6 in Three Rivers Conference baseball action.

The host Wildcats scored nine runs in the first three innings en route to the win.

Drew Bradford and Hunter Sroufe each blasted home runs for the winners. Bradford was 2-4 in the win.

Winning pitcher Tanner Gaff fanned eight in five innings of work. He also was 2-3 with a double and two RBI.

Zach Snep was 2-3 with a triple and scored two runs for Whitko.

Shane Vigar had two doubles and two RBI for Northfield. Drake Richter and Bryce Kendall each homered for the Norsemen.

Whitko improves to 10-6 overall and 2-1 in the TRC. The Wildcats host Wabash on Wednesday evening in South Whitley.
