Wendell R. Bell, 79, of Wabash, died at 6:45 am, Tuesday, April 28, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born Dec. 12, 1935 in Kentucky to Bryan and Hattie (Bell) Bell.
Wendell was a member of the Jalapa Road Free Will Baptist Church. He worked and retired from Conrail Railroad. He enjoyed trains and hunting.
He is survived by three sisters: Eva Gagnon, Peru; Norma Bell, Warsaw; and Frances Bell, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and longtime companion: Estella “Stella” Bain.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, May 4, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, located at 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash. Services will also be at the funeral home beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, officiated by Rev. Bill Bowling.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
