North Webster Family Fun Night
By KRISTIN BONNER
North Webster Parent Teacher Organization
It’s become a yearly tradition for the staff and students and families of North Webster Elementary to celebrate the end of the school year at Paige’s Crossing Fun Center. The PTO hosts this huge event to thank the families who have helped contribute to their activities throughout the year and to help the students celebrate the hard work they have put into school over the school year. A great time is had by everyone. The entire Wawasee community is welcome to attend.
Each year the PTO asks community businesses to help sponsor the event. Financial donors include Nipsco, Amazing Canvas, Lakeland Spinal, and Stamp n’ Toys. Other businesses contribute food for the event. Each North Webster student is given a coupon to redeem for a free meal. These meals are donated by North Webster New Market and Martin’s. Aaron’s and the Kosciusko County Visitors Center also donate water for the meals. The PTO will also be serving sno-cones and all sorts of yummy goodies.
There will also be free face painting and balloon animals from Mr. Pulley. The rest of the North Webster staff always signs on to work the concessions. It’s fun for the students to see their teachers outside of the classroom setting. Each year the family fun nights gets bigger and better. If you are free on Friday, May 1, feel free to stop in sometime from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and sign up to win a prize. Wrist bands to ride the rides are $9 and are good all evening. If you have small children, we provide a bounce house and some little kid friendly activities. The wristband is not necessary for these events. If you have a student entering kindergarten at North Webster next year this is a great time to stroll around and meet some people that will be spending lots of time with your child.
Each year the PTO raffles off donated items to raise funds to defray the cost. Some exciting raffle items this year include: Two Tonka Trucks from Ace Hardware, a gift certificate from Barts, Subway, Bourbon Street and Pizza King, a gift basket from Java Cottage, free ice creams from Culvers, a selection of Warrior items from Maverick Promotions, a cold tote and travel blanket from Mutual Bank, movie passes from North Pointe Cinema, a free week for a kid at summer camp at Quaker Haven Camp worth $300, a free night at Oakwood Resort, a $100 gift basket from J3 Salon, rides on the Dixie Boat, a 31 product from Samantha Sinn, Tastefully Simple products from Tabatha Corn and Young Living Essential Oils products from Jenny Douglas. We also have a $10 off coupon from Lee Anne Stewart dance, a gift basket from Jill and Jennifer’s salon, $100 toward Scholastic books and a $20 gift certificate from Wawasee Bowl. We also have stuff from Clark’s Marina, Claytons, Satori and much, much more.
Consider joining us at Paige’s Crossing Fun Center on Friday, May 1. It’s a great night for the entire family.
