James Rulo Minear, 86, of Marion, passed away at 12:38 p.m. April 21, 2015, at Community Hospital of Bremen, Bremen.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County, for the past 40 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Warsaw High School in Warsaw. He then attended Manchester College for three years, later graduating in 1957 from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. Jim served in the U.S. Navy from 1957-1959, and served as a pastor in various locations throughout Illinois and Indiana. Jim also served as an insurance agent for Mutual of Omaha and Brotherhood Mutual for many years. He was an enthusiastic fan of IU and the Chicago Bears.
He was born on March 20, 1929, in Warsaw, to George Rulo Minear and Ida Lorinda (Thompson) Minear. He was married to Norita Joan (Ullery) Minear, who survives.
He is survived by his son: Tim (Patti) Minear, Winona Lake; two daughters: Deb (Jim) Ford, Mansfield, Ohio; Amy (Scott) Allison, Columbia City; eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Michael Scott Minear, who died February 24, 2015; and two brothers: Bernard and Tom Minear.
No visitation or services are planned. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery of Warsaw.
Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
