Ruth Sholtey, 96, of Milford, passed away at 10:10 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015, at IU Health in Goshen.
She was born on April 4, 1919, to Frank and Elizabeth (Booze) Hoover in Kosciusko County. On Jan. 21, 1941, Ruth married Vernon Sholtey. He preceded her in death.
Ruth worked as a homemaker raising her children and taking care of her family. She attended Clearview Church.
Surviving are her children: Wayne (Marcia) Sholtey, Jim Sr. (Martha) Sholtey, Ruth Faye (Russ) Ivison; and Sally Thomas; six grandchildren: Mary, Jim Jr., Loretta; Lydia Sholtey; David (Shawna) Ivison; Hannah Ivison; and four great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandchildren: Deborah Ivison and Rebecca Sholtey; two sisters: Esther (Cloyd) Rusk and Edna (Paul) Meyer; and one brother: Walter (Alice) Hoover.
A funeral service will be held in Mrs. Sholtey’s honor at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Mishler Funeral Home, 461 W. CR 900N, Milford, with Reverend Hubert Schmucker officiating. Burial will be in Milford Cemetery, Milford. There will be a time of visitation from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
