Sharon A. Diffendarfer, 73, a resident of rural Churubusco, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.
She had been in declining health since July and had entered the hospital on Tuesday.
Sharon was born on June 13, 1941, a daughter of John Henry and Eileen (Kilgus) Boggess, and spent her early childhood years in Fort Wayne. As a young person she moved to the Churubusco-area with her parents and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1959. She lived all of her adult life in and around Churubusco.
Employed in the offices of North American Van Lines in Fort Wayne, she retired from there in 2003 after over 10 years of employment.
She was a member of the Sugar Grove Church of God, north of Churubusco. In her leisure time she enjoyed playing cards, singing with her family and most especially loved and cherished her family.
The surviving relatives include three daughters: Lea (Gary) Norris and Christa (Brad) Arrowsmith, both of Churubusco; Nancy (Dallas) Nestel, El Paso, Ill; her son: Lance (Holly) Diffendarfer, Fort Wayne; a sister: Diane M. Geiger, Churubusco; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Boggess, on Sept. 18, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, April 14, at the Sugar Grove Church of God with Pastor Timothy Grable, officiating. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 13, or at the church one hour prior to the service Tuesday morning. Sheets and Childs Funeral Home is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
Interment will be in the Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell.
