Stanley %22Gene%22 PeppleStanley “Gene” Pepple, 74, of Columbia City, died at 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Parkview Whitley Hospital.

He was born Aug. 12, 1940, in Noble County, to Lloyd Albert and Mary Jane (Coleman) Pepple. His formative years were spent in the Huntertown area. He graduated from Huntertown High School.

On Jan. 13, 1961 he was united in marriage to Mary B. Snyder. They spent most of their married life in the Columbia City area. Mrs. Pepple died Nov. 4, 2014.

He worked for McClean Trucking for 10 years and then owned and operated a custom leather shop. He also trained hunting dogs.

His memberships included Warsaw Rifle Association.

Surviving relatives includes two children: Robin (Terry) Werstler, Larwill; Mark (Heather) Pepple, Churubusco; seven grandchildren: Thad and Brooke Werstler; Colleen, Katie and Sarah Pepple; Cole and Paige Stauffer; three sisters: Roselyn Marsh, Tucson Ariz.; Margaret Miller, Fort Wayne; and Cathy Pepple, Tucson.

There will be no visitation or service.

Preferred memorials are to Parkview Home Health & Hospice. Arrangements are by Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
