Danny E. Smith, 75, of Warsaw, passed away at 12:09 a.m. Monday, April 6, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.

He was a resident of Kosciusko County throughout the past 37 years. He was a graduate of Silver Lake High School, Silver Lake, afterwards he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1958 serving as a mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1978 after 20 years of proud service. Danny continued to work as a mechanic after his military career for the Indiana Department of Transportation. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 1126 of Warsaw and a member of Warsaw Wesleyan Church.

He was born on Sep. 6, 1939 in Clunette to Clinton E. Smith and Dora Jane (Harter) Smith. On June 6, 1986 he was married to Bonnie L. (Thompson) Smith, who survives in Warsaw.

He will be lovingly remembered by his seven daughters: Dodie (Dan) Kreger, Warsaw; Wanietta (Don) Stuckey, Spencerville; April (Scott) Schaefer, Payne, Ohio; Shannon (Jim) Aaronhalt, Spokane, Wash.; Stephanie Stanley, Pierceton; Dora (Josh) Bays, Claypool; Jeanette Smith, Seattle, Wash.; two sons: Chris (Medi) Smith, Warsaw; Mark (Cindy) Smith, Moreno Valley, Calif.; and son-in-law: Juan Ceballos, Leesburg. Also surviving are thirty-five grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Sharon Hoffman, Wabash; Beverly Helfrick, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jamie Ceballos, granddaughter Rein Morrow, and brother Teddy Smith.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.

His funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, and officiated by Pastor Andy Weaver. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Warsaw, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #49 and the V.F.W. #1126 both of Warsaw and active duty honor guard from the Air Force.

Memorial donations may be made out to Wee-Care Daycare and mailed to Warsaw Wesleyan Church, 2402 W. Old Road 30, Warsaw, IN 46580 and would be appreciated by his family.
