Officer Brenda Louthain responded to a call about an armadillo that had been struck by a car near the Washington Street bridge in Monticello on the afternoon of March 25. The armadillo was deceased when it was recovered. Officers do not know where it came from or how it got to northern Indiana.

In another incident, a sea lamprey was shot by a bow fisherman who was targeting a carp in the Wabash River March 27. The lamprey had evidently attached itself to the carp to feed, like a parasite, which is typical of the adults of the species.
