Virginia R. Airgood, 92, North Manchester, passed away at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Huntington County, to Elmer and Dessie (Kline) Fleck. She graduated from Lagro High School in 1940. On Feb. 7, 1942, she married George A. Airgood. He died Oct. 21, 2010.
She retired from Heckman Bindery in 1982 after 19 and a half years service. She was a 53-year-member of Chester Charmers Home Ec Club, North Manchester, and a member of Servia – New Hope United Church of Christ, Bippus.
She is survived by one son: Dick R. (Deanna) Airgood, Greenfork; one daughter: Sally (Robert) Gamsby, Wabash; one half-brother: Charles (Sylvia) Fleck, Fort Wayne; one half-sister: Mary Lois Chamberlain, North Manchester; seven grandchildren: 20 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son: John Airgood; and one grandson: Robert F. Gamsby II; one brother; and two step brothers.
Family and friends may call Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Peabody Chapel, 400 West Seventh St., North Manchester. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, March 28, at Peabody Chapel, 400 W. Seventh St., North Manchester. Rev. Sue Babovec will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
