BMV Announces New Chief Of Staff

Kent Abernathy, commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, has announced a new chief of staff for the agency, Peter L. Lacy.
Lacy recently served as National Vice President, Operations at FinishMaster Inc., which is the leading distributor of automotive coatings and associated products in the U.S. His previous experience includes process improvement, business model transformation and acquisition integration.
“Peter is a great addition to the agency,” said Abernathy. “His skills and background will help advance our progress and success at the BMV.”
Lacy is also active in the community and serves as chair of the Clinic Advisory Council for the School of Physical Education & Tourism Management at IUPUI and is also a board member of Junior Achievement. He was also previously Board Chair of Girls Inc. of Greater Indianapolis.
Before earning his MBA from Xavier University, Lacy received his bachelor’s degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina in Charleston.
“I am glad to have the opportunity to join the BMV and I look forward to using my experience to help the agency continue to serve Hoosiers across Indiana,” said Lacy.
