A Week of Construction
The Syracuse Library is closing from Monday, March 16 through Saturday, March 21. The library is opening again on Monday, March 23. No items are due during the week when the library is closed for construction. Patrons are encouraged to stock up on books and movies before the closure.
Renovation work is going to be concentrated on the front entrance, the upstairs bathrooms and the adult circulation desk along with gluing counter-tops. Kim Blaha, director, is working with staff to have in-service trainings. Staff will also spend the week cleaning shelves and preparing upcoming programs. Materials can be dropped in the drop box and holds on books and movies can be placed for pick-up the following week. Call the Syracuse Library at (574) 457-3022.
Young Adults are Meeting
Young people are having their book club, but story time is not meeting on Monday. Story time is cancelled on Monday, March 16 and is returning with a trip to NewMarket on the Monday, March 23.
The teen book club is having their regularly scheduled meeting at Wawasee High School library an hour earlier at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 17. Activities for the hour include a group discussion about the characters from the Mortal Instruments series, using a codex to finish the Shadowhunters game and eating Chinese food. Any middle school or high school student is welcome to come to the book club.
Winners Announced
A tough decision was reached and the final winners in the heart decorating contest were announced. Receiving a prize basket are Katelyn Abel, Madelyn Thomas, and Kate Shoemaker. Thanks for great decorations to all that entered the contest. The bulletin board was a delight.
