Syracuse Redevelopment Commission will hold a public hearing at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at the Syracuse Town Hall, 310 N. Huntington St., for the purpose of approving the disposal of property located in the Syracuse Technology Park, located in Benton Township, Elkhart County.

The hearing will save time for any potential buyers.

Syracuse Redevelopment Commission hopes to have bidders for all 14 lots. Town Manager Henry DeJulia explained Indiana law requires public property be made available through a hearing for bidders if a community is planning on selling it. Since the redevelopment commission has ownership of the property, only one public hearing is necessary.

Had the town council been handling the sale of the lots in the technology park, an individual public hearing would have to be held for each lot. Proposals may be submitted to purchase all 14 lots, any one of the parcels or any combination of the parcels. Any bidder must be able to close within 30 days of the awarded bid.

Syracuse Redevelopment Commission reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities, and to reject any and all bids or portions thereof.
