Virginia Rose (Boyer) Johnston, 77, Argos, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday, March 2, at her residence. She had been in declining health for the past three months.
Virginia was born on Sept. 19, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., to Norman R. and Evelyn (Wiler) Boyer. She had lived in the Argos community since 1983 coming from Kalamazoo, Mich., where she had lived for 42 years.
She was married to Virgil A. Hopwood Sr. and they divorced later. He preceded her on Dec. 1, 2013.
Virginia was a factory worker most of her life, having worked for KVP Sutherlands Paper Products in Parchment, Michigan. She attended New Song Community Church in Plymouth and had participated with Habitat for Humanity of Marshall County and help with the Advisory Committee for Legal Aid in Marshall County.
Virginia is survived by her daughters: Patricia Miller and Fiancée Felix Orpiz, both of Argos; Cindy (Paul) Thorpe, Argos, and Nancy (Terry) Faucet, Clemmons, N.C.; son: Virgil A. (Carol) Hopwood Jr, Scott, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters: Joan (Robert) Glick, Fallbrook, Calif., Shiela (Patrick) Hern, Washington, Ill.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, March 6, at New Song Community Church, 410 N. Kingston Rd., Plymouth.
Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 6 p.m. at the Church with Rev. Jason Chambers.
