Barbara QuiveyBarbara R. Quivey, 89, of Plymouth, passed away at 2:19 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center – Plymouth Campus.

Barb was the daughter of Leslie and Bernice (Marsh) Mahler born on Aug. 10, 1925, in Culver. She graduated from Culver High School with the class of 1944. On Aug. 10, 1946, Barbara married Glen A. Quivey in her parent’s home in Culver. Glen served in the U.S. Army, and after many travels, the coupled settled into Plymouth in 1982.

Barb served as a bookkeeper for several companies. She was a faithful member of the Plymouth First United Methodist Church, a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority member since 1957 and a member of the Extension Homemakers through Purdue University. Ladies of the Home and Hobby Chapter were active for many years making quilts for the Red Cross and as a cancer survivor herself, made heart pillows that were distributed to breast cancer patients. She also volunteered her time and skills every Thursday at the downtown Marshall County Historical Museum.

She is survived by her daughter: Lois Ann (Dwight) Crowther, Hingham, Mass.; and her daughter: Barbara Marie Crowther, all of Hingham; brother: Martin Mahler, Culver; sister-in-law: Eileen Quivey, Plymouth; niece: Kaye Schultz, Culver; and nephew: Alan Mahler, Culver; along with many cousins and friends.

Barb was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister: Betty Mahler; and sister-in-law: Ruth Mahler.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday March 2, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, in the First United Methodist Church, 400 N. Michigan St., Plymouth with Reverend Larry Marhanka officiating.

Preferred are memorial gifts to the Church, M.C. Historical Museum, 123 N. Michigan St., Plymouth, IN 46563 or the Cancer Association of Marshall County, c/o 9739 Sunnyside Dr., Plymouth, IN 46563.

Burial will be in the Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. Cemetery (Poplar Grove Church) in Culver.
