News and events this week:

Winter Story Times

Encourage a love of reading from the start with storytime at the library.

Storytimes for children ages three through five are from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. through 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday mornings through March 11. Children enjoy stories, crafts, songs and games based on Eric Carle books.

Babies through age two and their caregivers will meet for “Move and Do” from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Thursdays through March 12, for music, movement, stories and hands-on projects.

Quilt Guild

The Nappanee Quilt Guild, a club for those interested in new quilting techniques, meets on the second Thursday of each month at the Nappanee Public Library. Members will meet at the library next from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12.

Membership for the Artful Quilters is open to anyone. Join the fun and fellowship with other quilters while keeping up to date with new activities and techniques in the quilting world. Bring your own projects to share, check out planned programs for the coming year, and sign up for trips.

Pinterest Night

Looking for a fun way to recycle part of your wardrobe? The library will host it’s monthly Pinterest night in the Cube, the library’s new Makerspace from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11. All materials will be provided to make a fashionable scarf. Cost is $5 per scarf.

All ages are welcome, but children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pinterest night is designed as a collaborative, learn as you make program where participants share ideas and tips to complete popular projects found on Pinterest, the virtual bulletin board and internet hub for bookmarking lifestyle links and images.

Registration is required by Wednesday, March 4.

For more information about this or any other event at the library, call (574) 773-7919 or go to www.napppaneelibrary.org.
