AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team earned a share of the conference championship Saturday.
The Vikings posted a 74-66 win over Northfield in a Three Rivers Conference contest.
Valley completes the TRC season at 6-1 in league play. The Vikings, who won the TRC title a year ago at 7-0, are tied with Manchester atop the league standings. Southwood is 5-1 with a TRC game left versus Northfield on Friday.
Neil Clampitt led the way for Valley in Saturday’s win with 22 points.
Gavin Bussard netted 19 points and Alex Thacker had 15 as the Vikings improved to 12-7 overall with their fourth straight win.
Chandler O’Connor had 12 points for Valley.
Northfield, which has lost five in a row, drops to 7-12 overall and 3-3 in the TRC.
Valley will host Bremen Wednesday night. That game was rescheduled from Tuesday night. The Vikings then play at Triton on Friday and host Wawasee Feb. 27 in the regular-season finale.
