karol stanleyKarol Stanley, 79, of Syracuse, passed away on Feb. 7, 2015 at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. He was born on Nov. 3, 1935 in Plainfield to Lowell and Juanita (Newby) Stanley. On Oct. 19, 1958 he married Sasha Hire who preceded him in 2011.

He was employed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a Civilian Contractor and retired from there.

He was a ham radio operator, call letters WA8NKW…he was known to his fellow ham radio operators as Stan.

He graduated from Indiana University and was a member of the Acacia Fraternity

He had a CCW permit, and was an avid gun collector and loved going to the shooting range with anyone that would go with him.

He was a member of the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Ohio

He was a member of The American Legion, North Webster, Post 0253.

He is survived by his 3 sons – Jeff (Nancy) Stanley, Springboro, Ohio, Kevin Stanley, Beavercreek, Ohio, and Mark (Lisa) Stanley, Syracuse; 2 daughters, Kristin Keyer, Beavercreek, Ohio, and Karlynne Akos, Destin, Fla. 8 grandchildren , and 3 great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Eastlund Funeral Home with calling 2 hours prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Syracuse cemetery.
