DENVER – The Whitko boys basketball team collected its first conference win of the season Friday night.

The Wildcats edged past host North Miami 62-58 in Three Rivers Conference action.

Nate Walpole continued his scoring surge with 28 points to pace the Wildcats to the win.

River West and Devon Adkins each had 12 points for Whitko. Tanner Gaff added five points. Adkins also had eight rebounds in the win.

Whitko, which has won four of its last five games, improves to 6-12 overall and 1-5 in the TRC.

North Miami, which lost its seventh straight game, falls to 2-15 overall and 0-6 in league play.

Whitko hosts Fairfield and North Miami plays at Sheridan Saturday night.
