MONROE – Aly Reiff’s huge first half propelled Whitko to a 56-33 girls basketball victory at Adams Central Friday night.

Reiff had 11 of her game-high 21 points in the second quarter and took 15 points into the lockerroom.

Brianna Cumberland added 11 points and Jennifer Reiff chipped in eight points for the Lady Wildcats, which move to 14-8 on the season.

Natalie Holley paced the Flying Jets (3-18) with nine points and Sarah Fletcher added eight points.

Whitko’s win closes out the regular season, to which the club now focuses on West Noble (14-8) as its first round opponent at the Wawasee Sectional Wednesday night. Whitko lost at West Noble, 42-40, Dec. 18 but hold wins against the other two teams in the mini bracket of the sectional, Wawasee and Lakeland, which meet in Wednesday’s second game.

Whitko and West Noble will begin play at 6 p.m. Wednesday, with a spot in Friday’s semi-finals against Wawasee or Lakeland on the line.
