The Elkhart County 4-H Beef Club has set the Animal ID date for the 2015 4-H year on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at the Shipshewana Auction Barn located on SR 5.

Animals will be ID’d between 9 a.m. and noon. In order for animals to be eligible to show at the 2015 Elkhart County 4-H Fair and the Indiana State Fair, the animals will need to be tagged and identified.

Animals this year will also have to be enrolled in the data management system at https://in.4honline.com. This is the same website used for 4-H enrollment. Beef animals cannot be ID’d until the youth are properly enrolled in the 4-H program.

4-H is apart the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service and is open to all youth that are enrolled in grades 3-12. To enroll in 4-H and learn more about the projects and opportunities that 4-H offers, go to the Purdue Extension Elkhart County website at https://extension.purdue.edu/elkhart or by calling (574) 533-0554.
