The area is well represented this week in the latest statewide girls basketball polls released by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association.

The Triton ladies check in at No. 7 in the Class 1-A poll. Also in the 1-A poll are No. 4 Oregon-Davis, No. 5 South Central and No. 6 Culver. All four of those teams will play in the Oregon-Davis Sectional next week, including the host and defending state champion Bobcats.

The Tippecanoe Valley girls team, which just won the Three Rivers Conference championship Saturday night, is at No. 9 in the Class 3-A poll. South Bend St. Joseph sits at No. 2 in 3-A, with Columbia City No. 7. Also receiving votes in the 3-A poll are NorthWood and Rochester.

Perennial power Penn is at No. 6 this week in the Class 4-A poll. The Kingsmen were state-runner up in 2014. Also receiving votes in the 4-A poll are South Bend Washington and LaPorte.

The Class 2-A poll has Westview at No. 8 this week.

The No. 1 ranked teams this week are Bedford North Lawrence in 4-A, Benton Central in 3-A, Heritage Christian and Fort Wayne Canterbury in 2-A and Barr-Reeve in 1-A.
