Kelley Baumgartner, currently of Jacksonville, FL, posted a photo to her Facebook page Saturday seeking her birth mother and family. She was born Feb. 3, 1987, in the Goshen/Elkhart area and later adopted through Catholic Social Services in South Bend.

Baumgartner felt that social media was a good place to take her search, as it has worked well for others in the past. She has been told that her mother was a hairdresser in her early 20s who possibly had seven siblings.

The photo she posted has received nearly 10,000 shares since Saturday.

“I feel grateful and overwhelmed with love from complete strangers. It is the best feeling in the world that I wake up and have tons of emails just of encouragement,” said Baumgartner.
