SOUTH WHITLEY – A tough third quarter led to a loss to Wabash for the Whitko girls basketball team Saturday.

The Apaches outscored the host Wildcats 19-3 in the pivotal period en route to a 58-47 win in Three Rivers Conference play.

Whitko led 12-8 after the opening quarter and 25-17 at halftime.

Aly Reiff poured in 20 points to lead the Wildcats.

Jennifer Reiff scored 13 points and Brianna Cumberland had 12 for Whitko.

Claire Cromer led Wabash with 23 points.

Whitko falls to 12-8 overall and 4-3 in the TRC. Wabash improves to 17-3 overall and 5-2 in league play.

Whitko hosts Fort Wayne North and Wabash hosts Blackford, both on Tuesday night.
