Yeo Receives National Honor
MISHAWAKA – Bethel College standout Clay Yeo has been honored as the NAIA National Division II Player of the Week.
Yeo, a sophomore guard, was saluted for his performances during the week of Jan. 19-25 for the Pilots.
The former Triton High School star averaged 25 points, 10 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game in a pair of Bethel wins during the week. He shot 63 percent from the field overall, including 60 percent on 3-pointers, and was 10-10 from the free throw line.
Yeo had 31 points and 14 rebounds in a 70-50 win over Taylor and also helped the Pilots to an 88-85 victory over No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan.
Yeo, who was named the Crossroads League Player of the Week on Monday, ranks No. 11 in the NAIA in 3-point percentage at .480 and No. 12 in scoring at 21.8 ppg.
Yeo is the second straight Pilot to earn national honors, following Matt Schauss last week.
