The state of Indiana experienced a record year for popcorn production in 2014. Hoosier farmers planted 91,000 acres of corn used to make popcorn, which is 10,000 more than in 2013.
Total production for the state was 432 million pounds, up from 372 million in 2013. The crop value was $81.65 million, up nearly 1 percent from the previous year.
Indiana is the second largest popcorn producer in the country, after Nebraska.
