WARSAW – WCHS senior Camille Kerlin was honored for her big heart on Friday.
Kerlin was saluted as a 2015 Riley Champion during a convocation at WCHS.
Kerlin, a member of the WCHS tennis team, was recognized after her fundraising efforts last summer raised more than $12,000 for the Riley Children’s Foundation and the Kosciusko County Riley Kid’s Foundation.
Kerlin held a “Racquets For Riley” tennis fundraising event at WCHS, along with the help of WCHS tennis coach Rick and Jan Orban among others.
Kerlin spent time at Riley’s Children Hospital in Indianapolis due to health problems early in her life, including having heart surgeries at the nationally-renowned facility.
Warsaw Mayor Joe Thallemer also proclaimed Friday as “Camille Kerlin” Day in the city.
