WABASH – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team earned a championship Saturday night.

Or at least a share of one for now.

The Vikings rolled to a dominating 71-42 league win at Southwood.

Valley improves to 16-2 overall and moves to 6-0 in Three Rivers Conference play to claim at least a share of the league title.

Coach Chris Kindig’s team will look to complete an undefeated TRC slate next Saturday at home versus Manchester.

The Vikings led 18-7 after the opening period and 34-16 at halftime Saturday night.

Anne Secrest poured in 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds to pace Valley.

Taylor Trippiedi scored 15 points and Meredith Brouyette had 14. Caylie Teel added 12 points for the winners.

Southwood drops to 8-10 overall and 1-5 in the TRC.

Valley plays at Wawasee Tuesday night.
