Adelene FlennerAdelene L. Flenner, 86, Peru, formerly of Macy, passed away at 8:23 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, at Blair Ridge Health Campus, Peru.

Born Nov. 16, 1928, in Jefferson Township, Miami County, she was the daughter of Otto and Esther E. Erlenbaugh Scott. On Jan. 24, 1948, at the home of her parents, she was married to Donald D. Flenner, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 2010.

Adelene was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson Township High School in Mexico. She was a member of the New Life United Methodist Church in Mexico, Miami County Republican Women, Allen Township Extension Homemakers Club and the United Methodist Women.  She enjoyed fishing, polka dancing and playing cards.

She is survived by her children: Cindy Jo (Richard) Walker, Columbia City; Thomas Fayne (fiancee Carolyn Coffing) Flenner, Warsaw; Amy (Doug) Robison, Peru; Julie Kepes, Peru; nine grandchildren: Gregg Flenner, Danny Flenner, Brooke Clawson, Lindsay Robison, Emily Stefanko, Beth Andrews, Brian Walker, Jacob Kepes and Hannah Kepes; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding her in death were brothers: Carl and Ellis Scott; and three sisters: Hattie Bernard, Alma Meeks and Edna Griswold.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, at McCain Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on the date of Don and Adelene’s  67th anniversary at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at McClain Funeral Home with Pastor J. Robert Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico.
