Now that the holiday season is past and we’re catching up on our list of things to do, holiday bills and children’s homework routines, please remember the Warsaw Community Public Library is getting back into story time mode.
We love having children and parents come to the library and discovering the vast amounts of resources we offer. Bringing your child to the library to hear stories and to visit the Children’s Department is a great way to reinforce the importance of making the library an essential part of your lives.
With the wind chill hitting zero and snow becoming an everyday occurrence, we’re going to focus on everything chilly for story time.
For those in the 2-year-old age group we offer story time at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Your child will experience the joys of music, laughter, games, crafts and some amazing stories. Staff love hearing children laugh and read along when they are sharing the wonder of a book with them.
For children ages 3 to 5, story time is at 10 a.m. Thursday. Staff host this program and focus on books, games, music and crafts that will appeal to your child. We’ve introduced more art during story time, so you might find your child creating a masterpiece with washable paint. Be prepared for some colorful fun. Both programs may be found downstairs in the Hogan Activity Room.
A library card is not needed to attend, although we certainly encourage you to have one, but we do ask that you preregister. This helps us to know how much craft material is needed and it really helps us keep costs down.
You can register at the Children’s Reference Desk, online at www.warsawlibrary.org, or by calling (574) 267-6011. The love of reading can begin at a very early age, experts say while a child is still in the womb, so we encourage you to bring your children or grandchildren to one of our story times, so they can experience all that the library offers.
We’re here to help you keep those children reading.
