Jack BodkinJack A. Bodkin, 70, of Warsaw, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

On April 30, 1944, Jack was born in Muncie, to Harold and Doris (Allen) Bodkin.

He worked most of his life as a painter for Huffer and Sons until his retirement. He loved fishing, garage sales and helping his friends around their home with raking leaves and shoveling snow.

Jack is survived by his daughter: Joni Bodkin, Columbia City; his mother: Doris Balser, Durham, N.C.; two sisters: Patricia Thomas, Warsaw; Linda Clay, Ventura, Calif.; three half-sisters: Kathy Kelly, Raford, N.C.; Cheryl Morton, Aberdeen, N.C.; Melony Cumming, Durham; two half-brothers: Darren Baker, Texas; and Kevin Allen, Alexandria; two nephews: Steven Caudill, Troy, Ohio; Robert A. Cole, Warsaw; his niece: Robin Cole, Warsaw; and three special friends: Margery, Rita and Fran.

There will be a private graveside at Hillcrest Cemetery. There are no visitation hours planned. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sons of the American Legion Detachment #253, 756 South State Road 13, North Webster, Indiana 46555.
