Valley Girls Stay Perfect In TRC

Tippy Valley Sports LogoWABASH – The Tippecanoe Valley girls basketball team took another step towards a conference championship Tuesday night.

A red-shot shooting performance carried the Vikings past host Northfield 50-43 for a key Three Rivers Conference win.

Valley, coming off a huge TRC home win over Rochester Saturday night, remains undefeated in league play at 5-0. The Vikings, who are 15-2 overall, are the lone unbeaten team left in TRC action.

Meredith Brouyette led the way to the win with 17 points. Brouyette hit 7-11 shots from the field, including a trio of treys for the Vikings.

Anne Secrest had 15 points and nine rebounds and Caylie Teel continued her strong play of late with seven points and five rebounds.

Valley led 17-16 after the first quarter and 29-24 at halftime. The Vikings were up 40-32 going into the final frame.

The Vikings committed just five turnovers in the win and shot 58 percent from the field in the game, including 70 percent in the second half.

Northfield drops to 9-9 overall and 3-2 in the TRC.

Valley plays at Southwood in another TRC game Saturday night. The Vikings then travel to Syracuse next Tuesday to face Wawasee.
