Alice Harriett GregorowiczAlice Harriett Gregorowicz, 93, Syracuse, passed away at 6:08 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at her home. She was born on Feb. 1, 1921, in East Chicago, Ind., to Joseph and Lola Lutkus.

She graduated from Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, received her Bachelor’s degree from College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minn., and her Master’s Degree from Purdue University. On May 9, 1970, in Chicago, Ill., she married Ben L. Gregorowicz who preceded her in death on May 6, 2004. She formerly worked at Marshall Field’s Dept. Store & American Dietetic Association both in Chicago. She moved to the Cromwell/Syracuse area in 1993 from Valparaiso, Ind.

She was a member of the St. Martin DePorres Catholic Parish in Syracuse and formerly attended St. Paul Catholic Church in Valparaiso.

She is survived by her daughter: Joan (Scott) DeHart, Syracuse;
son: Bernard “Bernie” (Susan) Gregorowicz, Louisville, Ky.;
four grand- and one great-granddaughter.

She was preceded by her parents, son: David Gregorowicz; and granddaughter: Allison “Allee” DeHart.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23 at St. Martin DePorres Parish, 6943 E. Waco Drive, Syracuse with Father Richard Hire officiating. Entombment services will be at 12:30 p.m. (Central time) at Holy Cross Cemetery, 801 Michigan City Rd., Calumet City, IL.

Memorial bequest may be given to St. Martin DePorres Catholic Parish, 6943 E. Waco Drive, Syracuse, IN 46567. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
