ELKHART – Scot Shaw has spent most of his high school football coaching career in Michigan.
Shaw still knows plenty about the Northern Lakes Conference though.
Shaw, who began his coaching career at Concord High School, has been named the new football coach at Elkhart Memorial High School.
Shaw replaces Bill Roggeman, who resigned following the 2014 season. Roggeman was 5-25 overall and 3-18 in the NLC in his three seasons at Memorial. The Crimson Chargers went 1-9 overall and 1-6 in the NLC during this past campaign.
Shaw coached this past fall at Fort Wayne Wayne High School. He guided the … to a 9-2 mark and a share of the Summit Athletic Conference championship with Fort Wayne Luers and Fort Wayne Snider.
Shaw is a 1975 Mishawaka High School graduate. He helped the Cavemen to the Class 3-A state runner-up finish in 1974 and earned the Phil Eskew Mental Attitude Award.
Shaw spent 27 years coaching in Michigan. He was the head coach at Three Rivers High School for 19 years, spent six as the head coach at Grandville High School and two as an assistant coach at Hope College.
Shaw began his prep coaching career as an assistant coach at Concord. He helped Tom Conn’s Minutemen reach the Class 2-A state title game in 1984 and also served as the girls basketball coach at Concord.
Shaw’s son Kyle is currently an assistant football coach at Mishawaka High School.
