Oreo has announced a new flavor in its limited edition line: red velvet.

The cookie will be dyed dark red with a red velvet cake flavor to it and have cream cheese flavored cream. The red velvet Oreos are set to hit stores Feb. 2 and be available for six to eight weeks.

Nabisco has experimented widely with different flavors in the popular cookie over the years. Oreo has seen lemon, peanut butter, candy corn, birthday cake, watermelon and many other incarnations. Some have been deemed delicious and others have failed miserably.

So far early reviews for the red velvet flavor have stated that it is quite good.
